However you found out about the role will normally also tell you how to complete your application. Companies might ask for you to send your CV via email, post it online through their website or apply using LinkedIn. Agencies the same.
A headhunter might want to work with you to write your CV so that it is tailored to this role and this company. Your friend might want to take it into their boss. Whichever way you are going to do this one thing remains the same. This is your only chance to make a first impression. Your objective at this stage is to get an interview. So how are you going to do that?
How To Generate an Interview From Your Application
- Start by spending time on the company’s website
- Get a feeling for what they are like as an organisation
- Review what you know about the role
- Directly relating to what you have just read, what have you got to offer?
- Why will this Company want to hire you over any other candidate?
These are all crucial things to include in your application.
Write some notes of things you want to let the Company know. Include everything you believe will inspire them to interview you.
Now you are ready to begin to compile the all important documents; your CV and a covering letter …
